Who we are and how we work

A collective of musicians and singers making versions of famous, and not-so-famous, songs.

There are two roles - advocates and enthusiasts - and we encourage you to do both:

1. suggest a song you’d like to cover
2. coordinate the enthusiasts who want to get involved in your song - decide the key, the tempo, share the chords, listen to ideas, coordinate the recording of the tracks, including your own if you’re playing on it
3. work with us to add any extra tracks and then mix, produce and master the song

1. find a song (or songs) you’d like to be involved in
2. collaborate with the song’s advocate, record your part (either yourself or with the help of the advocate)
3. sit back and wait for the final mix

The key principle is that everyone who gets involved in a song will be on the final mix. So advocates need to be open to where the enthusiasts’ blend of instruments and parts will take the song; this is a bottom-up approach.

Our role is to support the advocates by:

1. providing the infrastructure to collaborate and house your song’s recordings
2. helping to record enthusiasts if they/you don’t have facilities. This could be at our studio, at your house or even in what we pretentiously term our “mobile studio”
3. mixing, producing and mastering the song with you, to give a consistency to the sound of 22lostsouls
